Submission Guidelines
for ൪uartet
an online poetry journal featuring
work by women fifty and over
Please read guidelines carefully
Send up to 3 unpublished poems in one Microsoft Word document (.doc, .docx) to quartetjournal@gmail.com. Times New Roman, 12-point font preferred. Please do not send PDFs. AI generated poems will not be accepted. Do not send withdrawals to this email address.
All withdrawals, questions, and commentary are to be sent to the editors at quartet50@aol.com. This email address is not for submissions.
Poems with unusual formatting have to be manually set by the editors. We will put forward our best effort to maintain that formatting within the limitations of our hosting site. If there are any issues we will contact the author.
Accepted poems will be published as submitted. No revisions will be possible except for the correction of spelling, punctuation, or grammatical error.
Once your work has been published in ൪uartet we ask you to wait at least two submission periods before submitting again.
Unpublished means poems have not appeared in print or online. This includes blogs, web pages, and social media sites.
Include your name in the subject line of your submission email.
Include your name and contact information on each of your submitted poems.
Formal cover letters are not necessary but it would be helpful to include the titles of your poems in the body of your email.
If your work is accepted we will request an artist's statement. Bios are not necessary. Rights revert to the author upon publication.
We encourage simultaneous submissions, but please let us know immediately if your work is accepted elsewhere. Email us at quartet50@aol.com.
If your work is published in ൪uartet and later appears elsewhere, we ask that credit be given to ൪uartet as the initial publisher.
൪uartet’s submission periods are as follows:
January 1st to February 1st, 2024
May 1st to June 1st, 2024
September 1st to October 1st, 2024
All submission periods close at midnight EST on the dates indicated.
Any work received outside the submission periods will not be considered. Snail mail submissions will not be considered.
൪uartet nominates for Best of the Net and the Pushcart Prize.
൪uartet chooses to remain fee-free for submissions and as such is unable to pay contributors except with our admiration and support of your work.
