Submission Guidelines

for ൪uartet

an online poetry journal featuring
work by women fifty and over


Please read guidelines carefully

Send up to three unpublished poems in one Microsoft Word (doc, docx) attachment, one poem to a page.

            * Submissions with more than one attachment will not be considered.                                       *Submissions of more than three poems will not be considered.

            *AI generated poems will not be considered.

Times New Roman, 12-point font preferred. Do not send PDFs.

 

Include your name in the subject line of your submission email.

Include your name and contact information on each of your submitted poems.

 

If your work is accepted, we will request an artist's statement. Bios are not necessary. Rights revert to the author upon publication.

 

We encourage simultaneous submissions, but please let us know immediately if your work is accepted elsewhere.

 

Unpublished means poems have not appeared in print or online. This includes blogs, web pages, and social media sites.

 

Accepted poems will be published as submitted. No revisions will be possible except

for the correction of spelling, punctuation, or grammatical error.

 

Once your work has been published in ൪uartet we ask you to wait at least two submission periods before submitting again.

൪uartet’s submission periods are as follows:

      January 1st to February 1st 
     May 1st to June 1st  
     September 1st to October 1st

All submission periods close at midnight EST on the dates indicated.

Any work received outside the submission periods will not be considered. Snail mail submissions will not be considered.

൪uartet is a journal with a small volunteer staff. We choose to remain fee-free for submissions and as such are unable to pay contributors except with our admiration and support of your work.
